Riding lessons

Horse riding + horse care (120 minutes)

  • 45 min riding + 75 min horse care & theory
  • Single lesson: 2000 CZK / 120 minutes
  • 10-lesson pass (paid in advance): 850 CZK / 90 min (total 8 500 CZK)
  • Suitable for children and adults, absolute beginners and slightly advanced riders.

What to expect – step by step (for absolute beginners)

1. Arrival and short introduction (5–10 min)

  • Arrival at: Lucky mlýn 1577, Mníšek pod Brdy
  • Short introduction
  • First questions, your experience, and possible fears

2. Basic safety and rules (5–10 min)

  • How to behave around horses
  • Where to walk / not to walk
  • What to do if you feel unsure or scared

3. Meeting your horse (10–15 min)

  • Introduction to your horse and its character
  • How to approach and touch the horse safely
  • Basic horse body language

4. Horse care – grooming and preparation (10 minutes)

  • Grooming the horse together (brushing)
  • Basic tack: saddle, bridle, purpose of each part
  • Preparing the horse for riding with help

5. Riding lesson (30 min)

  • Safe mounting
  • Correct seat and rein handling
  • Basics:
    • correct position
    • starting and stopping
    • turning
  • For more advanced riders: trot, balance, better seat

6. Cooling down and dismounting (5–10 min)

  • Cooling the horse down at walk
  • Safe dismounting
  • Quick questions about the riding part

7. After-riding care (10–15 min)

  • What the horse needs after work
  • Removing saddle and bridle
  • Basic coat and hoof care after riding

8. Theory and summary (about 10 min)

  • Recap of what you learned
  • Questions about horses, equipment, next lessons
  • Possibility to plan your next visit or 10-lesson pass

Location

  • Lucky mlýn 1577, Mníšek pod Brdy
  • 30–40 minutes by car from Prague (depending on traffic)

Safety equipment – provided

  • Riding helmet (mandatory for children, recommended for adults)
  • Body protector / safety vest (available, especially for beginners)
  • Equipment is included in the lesson price.

What to bring (children & adults)

Clothing:

  • Long trousers / leggings
  • Strong closed shoes with a small heel
  • T-shirt / sweatshirt according to weather
  • In colder weather: zip-up jacket, no long scarves
  • In hot weather: cap/hat, sunscreen

Other:

  • Bottle of water
  • Small snack (optional)
  • Hair tie for long hair
  • Sport / stable glasses if you wear them

What to be prepared for

  • Outdoor environment, contact with animals
  • Dust, hair, hay – clothes may get dirty
  • Possible muscle soreness after the first lesson
  • Natural respect for height and horses – we go slowly
  • You can ask questions anytime and we adjust the tempo to you
